First Bumblebee sighting of the year

Today, while I was taking down our Christmas lights in the garden I saw a queen bumblebee! I can’t ever remember seeing one so early in the year.

That said, the daffodils are pushing up through the grass at the bottom of the garden, and the snowdrops are about to come into flower.

We will soon be back in the active beekeeping season, better get ready!!
