The National Bee Improvement Plan

A National Bee Improvement Plan has been launched in the UK this year . Karl will give an overview of the strategy which aims to get more beekeepers to rear their own queens and improve their bee’s characteristics so that they have locally adapted, more varroa tolerant and sustainable colonies. This may reduce the UK’s worrying trend of ever-increasing bee imports.

Karl will go on to explain his own approach to improving his bees and how the best bees for Cheshire are most likely already amongst us. It is pleasantly surprising how much improvement can be made with your bees with some simple steps.
