Meeting Randy Oliver

In October 2018 Steve spent a day with Randy Oliver at his home in Grass Valley, California, asking questions and following him as he visited apiaries and checked on his field trials. Randy is well known for his practical, beekeeper friendly approach to relevant research. He has a monthly column in the American Bee Journal, runs the popular scientificbeekeeping.com website and is in great demand as a speaker at events around the world. Steve shares photos and lessons learned from his trip, and goes into the details of Randy’s field trial on drifting workers. He will also walk through Randy’s varroa model which took years of work to get right.
