Mid Cheshire Apiary visit
As usual, our May-August Branch Meetings will be apiary visits but, owing to the ongoing Covid restrictions which severely limit the number of members allowed to attend these events, our first two meetings will be virtual visits via Zoom.
Dave Wright has kindly offered to host the first event which will involve a visit to his apiary in Oscroft. Dave has a keen interest in different types of beehive and in addition to the Standard National Hive with which we are all familiar, Dave will be showing us his Top Bar, WBC and Long Hives, all of which as a professional joiner are self-made.
The apiary visit will be filmed in advance of our branch meeting and the film shown at the meeting on Monday 10th May (start time 7.30pm) with Dave providing a commentary on the hive inspections. Following the film there will be an opportunity to ask Dave any questions about the hives and his bees, and to raise other topical beekeeping issues (e.g. swarming) for general discussion.
